Depicts Maria, Julian Martinez and son of San Ildefonso pueblo, New Mexico. Julian is holding their son, Popovi Da. Susan wanted to depict the importance of the whole family in the revival of a dying art form. "Maria Martinez and her husband Julian, stand back to back, exerting their independence, while to the observer, their robes wed together, uniting them.
